Fuel efficiency is perhaps the last thing that springs to mind when considering a Dodge Charger.

Given the seven Charger trim levels available for the 2022 model year, it's simple to be drawn to the Scat Pack and Hellcat because of their strength.

One Challenger level is more fuel-efficient than the others, though.

The most-fuel efficient 2022 Dodge Charger is also the cheapest

The SXT trim level of the 2022 Dodge Charger is where you should focus your attention if you want to maximise fuel efficiency.

The most affordable model, with a starting price of $32,500, is the Charger SXT.

That is less expensive than other midsize cars with comparable performance and power, such as the Toyota Avalon and Nissan Maxima.

The Charger SXT has a 3.6-liter V6 engine under the hood that generates 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

An 8-speed automatic gearbox transmits this power to the rear wheels.

The Charger SXT can get up to 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA.

That's not terrible considering that the engine is a V6 producing respectable power.

The all-wheel drive version of the basic Charger is also available, although it has a worse fuel efficiency of 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the interstate.
