Hennessey's formula of creating cars with more power than they know what to do with continues with this 1,000-hp Hellcat.

How might the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat be improved upon further? Why, you naturally give it more power.

Giving a car more power than the chassis can sustain has always been Hennessey's secret to making it better.

Due to its 6.2-L supercharged HEMI V8 engine's 707 horsepower, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat has always been a vehicle

that pushes the limits of how much power it can employ successfully. With Hennessey's HPE1000 upgrade kit,

that is increased to 1,000 horsepower, which is little short of absurd.

A bigger supercharger, increasing the displacement to 4.5 L and providing 14 psi of boost, is the first step towards making that much power.

A wider throttle body, stainless steel long tube headers, high-flow catalytic converters, new high-flow fuel injectors,

and a high-flow supercharger bypass valve are a few of the upgrades made to the engine after that.

The Hellcat HPE1000 now produces 1,012 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 969 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm as a result of all of this.

The duration from 0 to 60 is under 2.8 seconds, while the quarter-mile time is now about 9 seconds.

These times, nevertheless, can only be achieved with a skilled driver on a prepared circuit.
