There is already a new electric Ford truck in town, despite the fact that it feels like the 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid just debuted.
We recently saw the unveiling of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, so we're wondering if going all-electric has any advantages over going hybrid.
s the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning better than the Hybrid?
Maybe. The majority of critics are now more familiar with the 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid
because they haven't had much chance to evaluate the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning.
While the PowerBoost starts at around $41,145, the new Ford Lightning starts at approximately $39,974.
The Lightning's lower price was not what we anticipated!
Popular F-150 options like the lay-flat seats, ProTrailer Backup Assist, and Pro Power Onboard generator are available for both the Lightning and Hybrid.
However, the Lighting comes with a few brand-new features including Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and a front trunk that can hold 400 lbs.
How much power does the F-150 Lightning have?
The typical range of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is 230 miles. It produces 775 lb-ft of torque and 426 horsepower.
The extended range model's range is expanded to around 300 miles,
and its output is increased to 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque.
A 3.5-liter V6 engine and an electric motor are combined in the 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid to provide 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque.
It doesn't require charging and has a combined EPA estimate of 24 mpg.
