With its Charger Daytona SRT Concept, Dodge is taking a big swing at the electric car era. 

The old Charger's two-door, relatively recognisable design has returned in place of the four doors of the gas-powered Chargers. 

The inside of the Dodge EV Muscle Car, however, is even more outrageous than its striking retro external cues. 

It is a strange setting, complete with a menacing glare and a design reminiscent of a science fiction starship.

If a science fiction villain drove an EV, it would probably be Dodge’s new EV Muscle Car, the Charger Daytona SRT EV

If you're squinting, the new Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric car can appear to be an early 1970s Charger. 

However, if you look closely, you'll see that it has contemporary materials, subtle aero, and ominous LED lights all everywhere. 

But when you take in the interior design, it gets even crazy.

The first thing you'll notice is a "halo" of illumination that wraps around the vehicle and has "Attitude Adjustment Lighting." 

Despite the technology, it resembles the cockpit of a villain's aircraft in the Star Wars saga. 

For instance, Dodge chose to cover the start button on the electric Charger with a cap that was "inspired by jet fighters."
