A pair of Dodge muscle cars duke it out in Vegas for drag race supremacy.

In a fierce drag race, a Dodge Charger Daytona Edition competes against a Challenger Hellcat Redeye.

Because it was hot, it was heated. It seems that this race was held in Las Vegas,

where the temperature at night was 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius), which is not conducive to supercharged engines attempting to keep cool.

High temperatures, though, are just a part of life in Vegas and don't deter anyone from racing vehicles, even if they aren't at their best.

The iconic Demon's replacement, a 2019 Dodge Hellcat Redeye, is on the left.

Although it has the same engine and drag-specific innovations, the Demons' 797 horsepower is less than it.

On the bright side, the Redeye features air conditioning and all the other amenities that make a car worth living in.

When residing in a desert, most drivers will consider that to be a need.

The Dodge Charger Daytona Edition is on the right. If this were the recently revealed 2020 model,

it would have been built on the Hellcat and use a 6.2-L supercharged V8 engine that produces 717 horsepower. Sadly, this is not the 2020 model;

rather, it is a 2018 model, which implies that it either had a 485-hp 6.4-L V8 or a 5.7-L V8 with 377 horsepower.
