8 Things We Just Learned About The New Dodge Charger And Challenger Scat Pack Swinger

Dodge has announced special Charger and Challenger trims to give the muscle car behemoths a proper send-off.

After 15 illustrious years of great muscle car manufacture, the Dodge Challenger and Charger are no longer being made.

The Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang, the Challenger's major competitors,

have evolved more into sports cars to compete with the BMW 4 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, making the Challenger the last of the true muscle cars.

Dodge has unveiled several special edition 'Last Call' vehicles to give the industry's behemoths of the muscle coupe

and sedan a fitting send-off as the two classic models are shortly to cease manufacturing.

The Black Ghost, the Shakedown, the Super Bee, and of course the Swinger are just a few of these unique models.

Instead of a Challenger or Charger, the Swinger moniker originates from a Dart, but it still describes the Dodge cars' go-out-with-a-bang approach.

The Swinger has some unusual under-hood plaques and distinctive trim pieces that will make it a highly sought-after collectable in the future.

The Swinger is only offered on the Challenger and Charger R/T Scat Pack versions,

not the Hellcat-powered ones, unlike some other special models.
