Graphic designer jlord8’s excellent new render combines Coyote V8 performance with family-friendly practicality.
The forthcoming 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is already serving as the inspiration for drawings among digital artists following its recent unveiling. @jlord8 designed the upcoming Dark Horse wagon on Instagram, and it combines the muscular style of the pony car with the extended roofline of a sport wagon.
View the rendering for yourself and make a decision about whether you want to see Ford produce this vehicle.
Dark Horse Wagon
The sleek front end and extended lip from the images that Ford revealed of the impending Dark Horse Mustang are included in @jlord8’s design, which is faithful to that of the vehicle. This rendering of the wagon retains the same fenders, wheels, and Dark Horse badging.
Apart from the two new doors, the top of the car from the B pillar back is where the most noticeable aesthetic difference lies. In contrast to the coupe production form of the vehicle, the roof extends on the wagon model. This modification results in a roofline that slopes at the D pillar considerably less severely than a conventional Mustang, as well as the wagon-like design.
Frequently depicting performance vehicles in various body types, @Jlord8 imagines the Mustang in wagon forms over earlier decades of Ford’s renowned performance vehicle. Other vehicles including the Ford Thunderbird, Cadillac Seville STS, and Dodge Charger widebody have received the wagon treatment from the designer.
Although there is a market for sporty, high-performance wagons, it has been avoided by American manufacturers since the withdrawal of the Dodge Magnum SRT8 and Cadillac CTS-V wagon. For wagon aficionados who seek great performance in addition to utility, that leaves wagons like the Audi RS6 Avant.
