In this article, we are mainly going to talk about the problems that we face in the 2022 Chevy Silverado. If you’re considering purchasing a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, it’s important that you are aware of these issues.

Potential 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 problems

The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 has a few issues that customers need to be aware of, according to Pickup Truck Talk. Positively, General Motors has noticed a decrease in complaints after switching to the 10-speed automatic transmission.

However, it is impossible to disregard the engine lifter failure in V8 engines. Lifters reportedly fail often in Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles from 2019 to 2021. To save gasoline, the system should shut down the cylinders and open the engine valves.

The compromised valves may cause sporadic engine stalling, abrupt power loss, and increased engine damage. This problem is brought on in certain trucks by defective parts.

Additionally, the 3.0-liter Duramax engine has been associated with long-crank and no-start problems. It’s possible that the camshaft wheel is prone to warping or bending. It thus avoids making touch with the proper components. The engine can take a while to turn over if it even starts at all.

Due to the need to lift and completely remove the truck cab, replacing this component takes 40 to 50 hours. This procedure may also be costly.

Smaller Silverado 1500 problems

A few less serious 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 issues have been reported. For instance, some drivers have experienced engine stalling, which isn’t due to a major technical issue that has to be fixed.

There have reportedly been infotainment problems as well. Could this imply that there is an upcoming electrical problem that is not yet known? If so, we’ll probably start hearing about problems more frequently.

Some drivers have reported that the gearbox has been lurching and the brakes are having minor problems. Although no recalls have been announced as of yet for this complaint, that does sound a little worrying.

Last but not least, there have been five complaints of 2022 Silverado 1500 paint quality problems. Having paint flaking on your brand-new truck is definitely a disappointment.

  1. These ‘new’ problems are nothing new. Paint peeling was a GM truck/ Chevy car&truck problem since the 1980s.
Inferior engine design was a major problem for GM Ford and Chrysler since the mid 70s. Of course the marketing department’s continue to make up bold face lies about quality and reliability. Bought my last big three new car in 1995.
